MILES CONSTRUCTION CREWS CAREFULLY PROTECTING GOLD CEILING DURING RENOVATION.
Bently Enterprises and Miles Construction were both honored during the annual Summit Awards for exceptional work in renovating the Farmers Bank building in Minden.
The Summit Awards are held annually and recognize the success of distinguished commercial agents, brokers, developers, property managers, and commercial projects in northern Nevada. Bently Enterprises and Miles Construction were recognized for their exceptional work renovating the more than 100-year-old Farmers Bank building in Minden, Nevada, and converting it to a LEED-Certified headquarters office for Bently Enterprises. The project is a LEED-Platinum candidate.

THE MAIN STAIRWAY TAKES SHAPE IN THE CENTER OF THE BUILDING.
As general contractors on the project, Miles used the existing structure to eliminate the environmental impact associated with demolishing an existing building and replacing it with new construction. To optimize energy performance, this project incorporated an extensive energy and day lighting modeling strategy, which was used to make informed decisions regarding the building’s system and assembly selections. The energy systems used were direct and indirect evaporative cooling, building mass utilization, natural ventilation, natural light with skylights, ground source heat pump technology, radiant cooling and heating and chilling beams.
